Well I found out THE HARD WAY that painting a 70mm miniature is just a tad bit more difficult than a 28mm miniature. I think I stayed up past 1:30AM (I'm hard headed) trying to get his skin rite. Today I came home with the determination that this is it..I'm going to finish up his skin and start on the rest...well after a couple hrs go by I wasn't happy with the way things were going..again! So I throw down a fresh base coat and start trying some experimental colors/mixes/blending etc. It wasn't going near the way I had hoped (suprise!)..so I figured hmm what the hell lets try a wash of Ogryn Flesh. HOLYYY $*%#!!! He came out looking like a really well done Native American with the look of "it's pay back time!" Soooo here we are..two days of carefully blending colors, working highlights just to wind up in the mason jar full of Pine Sol to strip the paint. What to do now you ask? Hrmmm went to the fridge grabbed a nice ice cold beer and started prepping another miniature to get my mind back somewhat in creative mode. Not like I don't have 4 or 5 miniatures already based, painted and waiting to be finished. No thank you! I'll step away from the paint for tonight and just get messy with basing. Which reminds me..think I'll post some pics of my previous work (completed and some not so completed). Here's one of them I did about 6 months ago. Was trying to improve on my blending techniques..This is a miniature by Scribor Miniatures. Great sculpt and was alot of fun to paint.
